“good things come when you stop waiting around”

By hampton, June 10, 2009 2:26 pm

mmmm.. Kathleen Edwards.

this week is shaping up to be a good week.  monday we moved into our new office up here in burlington MA. i think i posted some pics on my twitter. i still need to decorate, but elvis did make it over. i didn’t think the movers would move him, but he had a sticker, so he’s here! monday night i had beer’s with M. i am very jealous of his multi-computorial skillz and his instrumental prowess.

last night i stayed home due to being very sleepy. i made some ramen (not ramen, really, but a different kind from super88 that comes with chili and an oil packet which i don’t use.) i watched nurse jackie on on-demand. i also decided to sack-out early, and watched y tu mama tambien in bed. what a movie! i really enjoyed the story, but the end made me really sad.

tonight i’m off to J,C &C’s for not-arrested development-night, tomorrow, playing pool and beers with K. he’s going to kick my ass. friday, my bff is coming up from long island to spend the weekend with me. we’re going to have so much fun!

awesome blog!

By hampton, August 8, 2008 11:53 am

i found the most awesome blog courtesy of a post on serious eats. i love serious eats. very much. and then they point me to this. being a former evil empire employee, it’s great. a lot of times i miss working there, because i could leave my work, at work. and even though i was working as an asst. manager, it was so easy. i had a great store, great employees, great regulars… maybe when i become independently wealthy i will go back to being a barista. i will make that bar shine like the top of the chrysler building again!

sad day…

so, see that nice little laptop with the red heart sticker on it in that post down there?

well, it died.

bessy is no more. prolific hard drive/motherboard failure.
i think the guys in IT are stroking me by telling me that they are still trying to recover my data.

soooo.. i’ve got bessy-deux now. she is not as fast or as smart as her predecessor.

kicking my ass

i just signed up for the watertown ultimate bootcamp.

not the full month-long one. just a week. (4 days.)

should be interesting… getting up at 5am and all that.

who freakin’ schedules a meeting at 5pm on a friday!?!?!?!?!??!?!

!!!!!?????

left key pass.

By hampton, September 18, 2007 4:47 pm

i left my key pass for work at home. this means i can’t really do anything.

“do anything” is defined as leave my desk, go to the ladies room, take a lap around the building, nothing. well, nothing without having to have someone to let me back in our office. so, i’ve not been my usual running around self. i’ve gotten a good amount of busy work done. i filled out an expense report, a vacation request, and answered a good amount of emails.  i’ve also solidified my plans to go down to miami to see my dad from oct 26 – 29. i think i’ll take a few days off after that too. i’ve got 5 vaca days to burn through before jan 1.  my productive day ends here. i’m pretty much ready to call it quits for the day. unfortunately, i still have an hour and 15 min left.

what’s up with all of these picture posts?

By hampton, September 18, 2007 10:55 am

i’ve been posting a lot of pictures. or, rather images from my mobile. so, there you’ve got a picture of my favorite baby ever, and his dad. a picture from the LIRR, when i was going into NYC for a meeting with a VERYIMPORTANTCLIENT. there are also some pictures in there from heartthrob.

i’ve also been convinced to join facebook. it’s kind of addictive. i can see why some people like it better than myspace.

last night i got new tires. $650 later, hermie drives like a new car! well, it better, after that much money. i knew i would need new tires before the winter, and i did the lincoln test. lo and behold, i could see all of our fair president’s head. i had researched the tires that i was going to get for a few months so i just called up sears to see if they had them and could do an install this week. poof! done.

i also got a pedicure last night. my toes needed some love. now they are fancy with candy apple red polish. i didn’t think the color would look good on me, but it does. yay! i don’t think i could pull it off on my fingernails, but my toes look HOT.

not much else is going on. i’m hoping to have a quiet weekend coming up. last week was insane. tuesday at heartthrob, seeing the myfavoritebaby, girl talk, going to see edie on saturday, client conference stuff. phew. i have a lot of tivo to catch up on.

thank you sir, may i have another.

i’ve had an interesting week. work has been… work. the usual edizzy style. however, on wednesday i think i got an internal job offer for 08. i’m not sure if i really want it at all, but it’s good to be thought of. then later that day, our VERYImortantclient blew up. so i was at the office till 7 sorting things out. wednesday night i dreamed of getting fired. and who did the firing? the guy who offered me that new position. or “new position,” because there is no rec, or anything open for it. they are just putting feelers out, i guess.

my inappropriate crush is pretty much gone, now, thank jebus. that was mighty stupid of me, anyway.

this week, i also bought a used treo 650 off of ebay. it’s only a week old, (at least, a week in my posession.) i’m really liking it. one of my co-workers sent me a program so i can make mp3 ring tones work, and turn off the pesky LED light.

tonight i’m supposed to be meeting my friend nicole to plan the benefit for her movie. that should be fun. however, if we’re just hanging out at 952 (her apartment.) i doubt we are going to get much work down. hopefully we can stay on task, and then have fun.

clients suck.

my job is eating my life away. i need to find a better way to manage my time.

yoga is definitely helping me with my stress level, as is working out at the gym so that’s a plus. however, i haven’t been able to really get to the gym in the morning very often, because i can never get to sleep because i’m pretty stressed at night.

the past few weeks have been good as far as nightlife. went to see the beastie boys last monday. great show. i was really impressed. i’m getting old, though, because i REALLY wanted earplugs. friday night i went to see session americana with nicole. the show was great, however there was one woman who sang with them for two songs that murdered a patty griffin and a ryan adams song. i was really unhappy about that. don’t get up and sing two of the most famous songs by those performers and mess up the lyrics.  ugh. that makes me so angry. i could go on and on about that, except i’m on a client call and now i have to pay attention.

grrr argh.

By hampton, June 28, 2007 11:50 am

stupid clients.
seriously.

it’s also HOT as heck out there. Sleeping last night was a challenge. I was going to go to the gym this morning, but when my alarm clock went off, i just couldn’t do it. it was finally at a nice sleeping temperature. So i rolled up my sheet, and put it over my eyes, and wedged it between my face and the pillow. i needed one of those sleep masks, but the sheet did the job. except i still had pillow face when i got to work.
note to self: get a sleep mask.
note to self #2: find out if you can use your a/c

it’s also an icebox in my office. i’m wearing a heavy fleece, and i’m still cold. i can’t wait to get outside where it’s HOT. also, panera lunch is in my future. yummy.
